How to play Sudoku
Fill the empty cells with 1–9. Every row, column and 3 × 3 box must contain all nine numbers without repeats. The starting numbers are clues and cannot be changed.
Select a cell and use the number buttons or your keyboard. Check answers marks incorrect entries. Hint fills the selected cell or another unsolved cell. Start over clears your entries while keeping the same puzzle.
Print Sudoku puzzles or save them as PDF
Choose how many clues you want. The settings aim for 44, 36 or 30 starting numbers. The generator may keep more clues to preserve a unique solution. Difficulty also depends on the placement of the clues, not just their number.
Open More options to choose A4 or Letter, add a photo and include a separate answer key. The puzzle prints without your entered numbers. Use Print / save PDF and choose Save as PDF in your browser to download it.
Add your own background photo
Open More options → Background photo and choose a JPG, PNG or WebP photo up to 20 MB. Adjust its opacity, fit and position. A light background keeps the letters and numbers easy to read.
Your photo appears in the preview, printed pages and PDF, including the answer key. It is processed in your browser, never uploaded to Lexiwi and never included in shared links. Choose it again after reloading or closing the page.
Frequently asked questions
Does every Sudoku have exactly one solution?
Yes. The generator checks for a unique solution after removing each clue and only keeps the removal if exactly one solution remains.
Do hints change the printed puzzle?
No. Hints fill entries on screen. The printable puzzle still contains only the original clues, with a complete answer key available on a separate page.
Are there word games too?
Yes. Lexiwi also has Hangman, Word Scramble and Word Search Maker.
Can I download the worksheet with my photo?
Yes. Add your photo under More options, then select Print / save PDF. Choose Save as PDF in your browser. The downloaded file includes the photo; the page link does not.
